TOURISM – HOSPITALITY
Tourism and Hospitality Services
Blue Service certification to ensure the health and safety of customers in the hospitality industry is addressed to hotel businesses, tourists and clubs, as well as to hosts of sports events (stadiums), festival organizers and events of broad participation.
In December 2014, the new International Standard HSTAR I for the Blue Service service was developed specifically to certify health and safety at hospitality and event events, and is SwissApproval’s intellectual property.
Tourism is one of the most important sectors of the global economy.
Within the hotel services, which are the main representative of the hospitality industry, securing customer health coverage is increasingly becoming a critical factor in the quality and reliability of a hotel business.
Regarding the organization of mass events, on the other hand, international regulations require the provision of first aid and medical services, in an advanced and highly organized framework.
HSTAR I – The Blue service certificate is a hallmark of hotel hotel and massive, large-scale events, which provides reliable solutions to managing health needs and covering exceptional guest and guest care services.
HSTAR I – the Blue service certificate is an international exclusive of Swiss ApprovalInternational, and is the “valid passport” for the hotel sector, the international tourism market and major tour operators.

Sustainability and Green Policy in Tourism
As the tourist industry continues to expand internationally rapidly, its multifaceted relationship to the environment and its influence on the populations of tourist destinations is becoming increasingly apparent. Although consumer awareness is increasing, there is an inability to understand the concept of ‘sustainable tourism’.
The Swiss Approval International brings to the fore the importance of the New Approach certification for the tourism industry, as determined by the World Council for Sustainable Tourism (GSTC), in order to contribute to clarity, unlike the ambiguities surrounding the potential impact ‘charged’ to tourist activity in terms of the environment, culture and residents in tourist areas. Certification for ‘sustainable tourism’ also entails opportunities to explore and encourage many opportunities for tourism to lead exclusively to positive impacts, coupled with tackling issues such as poverty eradication and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage .
The Swiss Approval International is a member of Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), proving its commitment to the principles of green growth in the tourism sector.
Travel is an indispensable part of society and has the potential to create positive changes in the communities and destinations visited by the traveler. Tourism contributes to the development of local economies through job creation, incentives to increase local production by increasing the population of consumers in local markets.
However, this development can only be ensured in the future, with the support of sustainable tourism. As long as the travel industry continues to grow, current practices are having a negative impact on the environment and local communities. It is an obligation for everyone to step up efforts to promote sustainable tourism through the development of available resources and the training of professionals, where necessary, in order to boost the demand for sustainable products and services that contribute to an alternative way of social and economic development .
